ABOUT THE ADVANCED COURSE:

The Advanced Audition Technique for Musical Theatre Course (or “The Advanced Course” for short) is produced by The Australia Musical Theatre Academy (AMTA) and run by its co-founder, musical theatre star and Australia’s leading teacher of audition technique for musical theatre, Queenie van de Zandt, who brings together Australia’s most experienced and respected musical theatre professionals to work exclusively with 20 talented performers!

Having studied audition technique for over 20 years, Queenie has developed a unique audition practice, that has helped her former students gain lead roles in shows such as The Sound of Music, Matilda, Singing in the Rain, and We Will Rock You.  It is this success that has recently seen her hailed in the press as a ‘musical theatre star-maker’.

What makes The Advanced Course so unique, is that performers not only get to learn Queenie’s audition practice, they also get to work with, and be seen by, Australia’s leading musical theatre directors, choreographers and musical directors.

Previous years' graduates were lucky enough to work with extraordinary creative artists such as:

TESTIMONIALS:

"The Advanced Audition Technique Course was pivotal in me being cast in my first musical. It allowed me to approach auditions from a more relaxed and positive frame of mind. As a result, the panel was able to see my talent and not my fear. I performed the song I worked on in the course at my first audition for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The producer later told my agent that after the audition, they wanted to put me straight into a costume fitting for the show. This course changed my life!...I am absolutely it's BIGGEST advocate!" S. Clark

“It changed the way I think as a performer. In fact, within a fortnight I had been cast in a professional musical…I’d recommend this course to anyone and if you’re serious about a career in Music Theatre – DO IT!!!!” F. Pearson

“I walked straight into a musical audition just before Christmas and channeled everything I learned…and guess what, I got the part…I auditioned for a part in the Mikado a few days before her class and I bombed so badly, so it’s no fluke, she really did help!” V. Athanassiou

“...I have been accepted to study at the Con in Brisbane to study Music Theatre!! I just wanted to thank you for your guidance and support in the masterclass last year! Without doing that I don't think I would have had the knowledge and the ability to gain entrance in the degree I wanted!...I really hope you continue teaching it because it’s so vital ...I would not be where I am today without you!” M. Skeggs

“Working closely with the very talented guest tutors, was a great insight into the professional world. I'm sure that if and when I audition for them in the future, they'll remember my face . . . as they say, it's not what you know, but who you know!” D. McCully
