Blackout Brings RENT to Penrith

RENT is a musical that everyone wants to do or be in or at least see once. Jonathan Larson’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning work comes plays during September 2016 at the Q Theatre in the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith, staged by Blackout Theatre Company.

This show follows the story of eight friends struggling to make their way through society in the nineties New York City at the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Blackout Theatre Company’s production features a cast of 40. This diverse cast is made up of a variety of ages from all walks of life, some veterans of the theatre and many first timers who have immersed themselves in Director Jordan Anderson’s vision.

Blackout’s RENT features choreography by Stephanie Bellchambers, who has tirelessly worked to incorporate the variety of styles this production demands. Musical Director is Koren Beale.
