CLOC Celebrates One Elle of a Musical

CLOC is saluting the modern musical comedy as it proudly presents the return to Melbourne of the effervescent, effusive and very pink Legally Blonde: The Musical.  Based on the hit movie of the same name, Legally Blonde  follows blonde and bubbly Elle Woods who, having been dumped by her boyfriend for not being ‘serious’ enough, enrols in Harvard Law School in an attempt to win him back, taking her lovable chihuahua Bruiser with her.

Melanie Ott is revelling in her second consecutive lead role with CLOC, after her appearance as Peggy Sawyer in 42ndStreet. This time, however, she has had to move over to share the spotlight with Taco the Chihuahua (pictured right with Melanie), who has threatened to become quite the upstaging diva since being cast as Elle’s beloved ‘family’ member Bruiser. Sarah Watson (pictured above with Betty the Bull Dog) plays eccentric and warm-hearted hairdresser Paulette Buonofuonte, who befriends Elle and along the way, finds her own path to true love.

An unapologetically fun show that keeps a twinkle in its eye and is 100% pure entertainment from start to finish, Legally Blonde will leave you with a smile on your face, a fondness for chihuahuas and a new-found love of pink!

Legally Blonde runs from October 3-18 at the National Theatre in St Kilda for twelve performances, including three matinees.
