Comedy as Wife Haunts Husband

Comedy Albert Nobbs, the final production for Gold Coast based  Javeenbah Theatre’s 2013 playbill from November 22nd– Dec 7th2013, follows the story of poor Albert Nobbs who discovers retirement is not all it’s cracked up to be.

Instead of relaxing and taking things easy, Albert finds himself bored and nagged senseless by his wife Connie. But Alberts' world is soon turned upside down by his wife’s sudden death until Connie returns as a ghost and tries to sort out his life - including setting him up with her best friend Rose.

Director, and Javeenbah regular, Jim Dickson says the he hopes audiences come away from this show with a new view on retirement and possibly their own behaviour if they are of the male gender.

“There are very funny moments and sad ones as well, taking the audience from tears to laughter as the story unfolds,” he said.

The cast for Albert Nobbs is Joel Beskin, Albert;
 Marie Dickson, Wife Connie; Gillian Crow, Connie’s friend & Albert’s admirer and
Wendy Spencer, next door neighbour & Albert’s other admirer.

Albert Nobbs runs from November 22nd – Dec 7th 2013.
