The Female of the Species for Castle Hill

The Female of the Species for Castle Hill

Castle Hill Players’ 2014 season continues from May 2 at the Pavilion Theatre with Australian playwright Joanna Murray-Smith’s comedy The Female of the Species.

Famous author Margot Mason has a publisher’s deadline to meet. Unfortunately, she’s in the dire grip of an author’s worst nightmare: writer’s block. But if she thought that was bad – things are about to get much, much worse. Margot is confronted by an uninvited guest, a former student with a tragic past and a novel way of working through her unresolved issues. And that’s only the start of Margot’s difficult day …

The Female of the Species is one of those remarkable plays that combines laughter with thought-provoking themes,” says director Valerie Miller. “One minute you’re chuckling, and the next you’re wondering how much of your own life is being presented on stage. The cast and I are having a great time bringing the story alive.”

The Female of the Species opens at the Pavilion Theatre, Castle Hill Showground, on Friday May 2nd and runs until Saturday May 24th. Performances are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 8.15 pm, and Sunday at 4.30 pm. Tickets are  $26.00, $21.00 concession and can be booked online at www.paviliontheatre.org.au, or through the box office at 9634 2929.
