Grease Times Three for Metropolitan Players
Metropolitan Players (Newcastle, NSW) will present Grease at the beautiful Civic Theatre from August 24 to September 3.
This is the third tme that Metropolitan Players has produced Grease, following productions in 1986 and 1995, both directed by the current director Julie Black. When Julie directed the first production, she was pregnant with her son Andrew who is appearing in this production in the role of Sonny.
In 2010 Metropolitan Players presented “The Boy From Oz” at the Civic Theatre to public and critical acclaim. Nearly 7000 people saw the show which received 11 CONDA nominations and won 4 awards including Best Non-Professional Musical and Director. It became the most successful show that the company has staged.
This year they hope to eclipse the record with Grease, their third production at the Civic.
