It’s never too late to grab some summer lovin’ when Bankstown Theatre Company sings and dances its way into your hearts with Grease this March.
The popular musical heads to the Bryan Brown Theatre in Bankstown for 8 performances 20-20 March, 2015.
Born in a 120-seat Chicago theatre in 1971, the nostalgic '50s rock'n'roll musical went on to play all over the world before being immortalised in the 1978 film starring John Travolta and Australia’s own Olivia Newton-John.
One of the biggest and most successful films to date, Grease features all the songs from the movie including 'You're The One That I Want', 'Grease Is The Word', 'Summer Nights', 'Hopelessly Devoted To You', 'Sandy', 'Greased Lightnin' and many more!
When wholesome good girl Sandy and greaser renegade Danny fall in love over the summer, they never expect to see each other again. But when they both discover that they’re now attending the same high school, social differences challenge their romance. Danny, the popular tough guy, and Sandy, the "good girl", go back to school after a summer fling; but Sandy finds that Danny is a different boy from the one she knew and must decide whether they really do "go together."
Directed and choreographed by Edward Rooke with Jessica McSweeney and musical director James Court, BTC’s Grease features Jessica Williams and Alex Jeans as Sandy and Danny, Steve McLeod as Kenickie, Izzy Tilden as Rizzo, plus Claudio Acosta, Joy Pennock, Phillip Plunkett, Annalise Del Colle, Nathan Watson, Megan Fitzpatrick, Zoe Martino, Stephanie Eid, Donovan Cleary, Jordan Janson, Tom Henderson, Alexandra Camillos and Nick Limberis. Plus an all-singing, all-dancing ensemble and full orchestra.
