Twelve Angry Men for Richmond

Iconic play Twelve Angry Men, adapted by Sherman L Sergelfrom the teleplay by Reginald Rose, is Playhouse Players’ August 2014 production at the Richmond Theatrette (Vic).

The play, concerning the deliberations of the jury in a homicide trial, explores many techniques of consensus-building, and the difficulties encountered in the process, among a group of men whose range of personalities adds intensity and conflict.

Koorliny Arts Centre Announces 2015 Season

On Friday night, July 25, invited guests gathered at Kwinana's Koorliny Arts Centre (WA) for their 2015 launch.

The Arts Centre was decorated with canopies and bubbles and guests enjoyed canapés…and bubbles before moving to the main auditorium for the announcement of the Centre produced shows for next year.

Koorliny Arts Centre Manager Ryan Taafe hosted the announcement of the four musicals which will be produced in conjunction with the Kwinana Industries Council.

 

Dark New Take on Little Shop of Horrors at Beenleigh

Answer: a dark and imaginative twist on a classic black comedy musical.

Tracey Hutley directs Phoenix Ensemble’s unique take on Little Shop of Horrors, which runs over five weekends at the boutique Pavilion Theatre (Beenleigh, Queensland) from 8 August, 2014.

A Brush with Picasso's Women

A FASCINATING insight into the wives and lovers of Pablo Picasso will emerge from the canvas during August 2014 as eight women share stories about their lives with the great artist.

Written by Brian McAvera and presented by Blak Yak Theatre at Chrissie Parrott Arts (Maylands, WA), Picasso’s Women is a collection of eight honest, brutal, erotic and humorous monologues that pull no punches.

The 2000 play allows the women to give their point of view and uncover their buried histories while relating their lives to Picasso’s art.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood Lets Bankstown Audiences Decide

Bankstown Theatre Company is presenting The Mystery of Edwin Drood, amusical ‘whodunit’ which is loosely based on Charles Dickens' famous unfinished novel, in July 2014.  Drood takes audience participation to new heights by letting them directly affect the play's outcome by voting for whomever they think is the murderer.
