Lieder Theatre Celebrates 120 Years with The Dream

The Lieder Theatre Company (NSW) is in rehearsal for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which will be performed to mark one hundred and twenty years of entertainment to the Goulburn community by the Goulburn Liedertafel.

The Dream is one of William Shakespeare’s most popular plays and has been performed previously at the Lieder for the company’s 90th birthday celebrations. We felt it most suiting to repeat this choice for our 120th making the Lieder Theatre Company the longest running theatre company in Australia

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will open at 7.30pm on Wednesday 31st August with a charity performance in support of The Goulburn & District Cystic Fibrosis Group – contact Trish Groves (4822 6963) or Sue Mowle (4821 7242) to purchase tickets for this fundraiser.

The Lieder will celebrate its longevity with a reprinted and updated history book launch featuring a new exhibition in the foyer of old Lieder photos, digitally restored by students from Mulwaree High School, on Saturday 3rd September preceding the evening’s performance and followed up with refreshments after the show to catch up with old friends and reminisce.
