Murder Mystery has A Sting in the Tale

Murder Mystery has A Sting in the Tale

From the pens of Brian Clemens [The (original) Avengers, The Professionals etc] and Dennis Spooner comes a murder mystery full of twists and turns.

A Sting in the Tale is the 4th production for 2013 for Fremantle community theatre company Harbour Theatre, in their 50th Anniversary year.

“This is a murder mystery with attitude,” says Harbour Theatre’s guest director Pat Stroud. “An insight into the creation of such works that sucks you in from the minute it opens and spits you out – bewildered, shocked and yet entirely satisfied at the final curtain. It takes you on a journey that ducks and weaves through one of the best scripts of its ilk. It’s a crossword puzzle that begins looking disarmingly simple, and quickly proves it’s as cryptic as they come – and it’s also very funny!”

For this production director Stroud has brought together a cast from among Harbour Theatre’s best, including leads Michael Dornan and Marcus McGavock, aided and abetted by Andy Markland, Meredith Hunter and Chloerissa Eadie.

Rather different from your regular whodunnit, A Sting in the Tale begins with a staged murder, and works back from there before the real murder. "We need a victim the audience would cheerfully hate," says the character Nigel just before his wife, Ann, walks into the playwrights' studio…

“This show will keep everyone on the edge of their seats with a resolution that will genuinely surprise audiences,” Stroud adds.

A Sting in the Tale plays at Harbour Theatre on September 20th, 21st, 25th, 27th, 28th, October 2nd, 4th and 5th at 8.00pm with matinees on September 22nd and 29th at 2.00pm.

Tickets are $25.50 Full, $23.50 Concession and $20.50 for Full-time students and children under 15yo. Bookings 9255 3336 or www.TAZTix.com.au
