Murderously Funny Mystery at Javeenbah

Javeenbah Theatre’s latest play The Game’s Afoot is a hilarious murder mystery full of mayhem and madcap adventure.

The award-winning comedy is written by Ken Ludwig and takes to the stage on November 13th – 28th, 2015, directed by Javeenbah regular Jim Dickson.

The Game’s Afoot follows the story of William Gillette, a Broadway superstar famous for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, who invites fellow cast members to his opulent castle for a party on Christmas Eve. When one of the guests winds up stabbed to death, Gillette must assume the persona of his beloved Sherlock Holmes, sidestep danger, navigate his own secret passages and unmask the culprit before the killer can strike again.

Director Jim Dickson said The Game’s Afoot will keep you laughing and trying to figure out whodunit until the final blow.

“There are lots of laughs and fast-paced scenes from a talented ensemble of performers,” he said.

“Set in the 1930s, the set and costumes are all beautifully art-deco themed.”

The Game's Afoot was named Best Play at the 2012 Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allen Poe Awards.

“The play is set on Christmas Eve and is a great opportunity to get friends and family together and enjoy an early Christmas-themed outing.”

The Game’s Afoot is Javeenbah’s final play of the 2015 season. The show runs from November 13th – 28th 2015 and tickets are available now at www.javeenbah.org.au
