Streetcar at Heidelberg

Tennessee Williams's masterpiece A Streetcar Named Desire, set in the steamy New Orleans Summer of 1949, is Heidelberg Theatre Company’s September 2016 production.

Its well-known plot deals with the visit of Blanche Dubois, fragile, disgraced and penniless, to the small and simple apartment of the Kowalskis; Stanley and Blanche's sister, Stella. Stella, though she loves both sister and husband, is unable to stem an escalating conflict between them, a conflict that culminates in tragic loss for all three.

Moby Dick On Stage in 25 Minutes

WHAT happens when you take a classic 685-page novel about a large aquatic mammal and try to encapsulate it in a 25-minute play?

The answer lies in Moby Dick, adapted by Michael Green from the original Herman Melville tale, and directed by Sarah Christiner as part of the Old Mill Theatre’s short play season this September.

Little Mermaid to Make a Splash at Beenleigh

Stagecraft Community Theatre Conference at NIDA

Jemma Rix will be the keynote speaker at the Association of Community Theatre’s tenth conference, to be held at NIDA on October 1 and 2, 2016.

ACT – an umbrella organisation for 150 community theatre companies - holds a conference every two years with seminars aimed at performers, directors and backstage theatre participants.

Jemma Rix – now a major star of the musical theatre stage - cut her teeth at Gosford Musical Society before working her way up to star as Elphaba in Wicked and more recently in Ghost.
