Strathfield Musical Society (NSW) promises audiences a treat with Beauty And The Beast in October 2015.

The two plays were written three centuries apart but when it comes to guys and love, what’s really changed? When they fall in love, they fall hard. Drowsy Chaperone for CLOC

CLOC Musical Theatre is following its record-breaking production of Mary Poppins earlier this year with another very special treat for its audiences – the rarely performed musical gem The Drowsy Chaperone, a show which beat bigger and grander musicals to win five Tony awards in 2006, including Best Score and Best Book, and which then enjoyed a sell-out 2010 season by the Melbourne Theatre Company with an all-star cast led by Geoffrey Rush.

A PLAY written by two women responsible for several Hollywood plays at Melville Theatre (WA) during September 2015.

Love, Loss and What I Wore is written by Nora and Delia Ephron – together they wrote the screenplay for You’ve Got Mail while Nora has received original screenplay Academy Award nominations for When Harry Met Sally, Silkwood and Sleepless in Seattle.

Forbidden Broadway on Gold Coast

Broadway’s favourite comical revue Forbidden Broadway hits the Javeenbah Theatre stage on September 4 – 19, spoofing popular show tunes, characters and plots of Broadway musicals.

Director Amy-Louise Anderson says no one is safe from Forbidden Broadway’s acid-tongued humour.

Perth Debut for Drama of Returning Digger

THE inner workings of a family just after the end of World War II are explored in Playlovers’ latest offering, Following The Black Sheep, making its debut in September 2015.

Written by Perth playwright Yvette Wall and directed by Campbell Greenock, the play is set in 1946 and focuses on Jack who, haunted by his past, returns home from the war to stay with his sister Shirley and her family.

Tensions rise when Shirley’s headstrong daughter Frances has to make an important decision about her future and Jack forms an affinity with her.

World Premiere for New Great Gatsby Adaptation

Prolific and critically successful at adapting iconic novels to the stage, Adelaide’s Independent Theatre now finds new dimensions in F Scott Fitzgerald’s jazz age classic, The Great Gatsby. Lesley Reed reports.

OCPAC will bring the hit 80s movie Footloose to life in Kew for 8 shows only in September 2015

Inspired by the 80s movie starring Kevin Bacon, this high energy musical includes Kenny Loggins’ Oscar nominated dance anthem Footloose.

The story follows Ren McCormack after he arrives in small country town named Bomont. When Ren discovers that the town has outlawed rock music and dancing, he fights to overturn the town’s outdated and narrow-minded laws.
