The Drowsy Chaperone for Shire

Following their successful season of The Addams Family late last in 2015, Shire Music Theatre (NSW) is presenting The Drowsy Chaperone: A Musical Comedy from April 17 – 26.

The completely original musical comedy with music and lyrics by Tony Award winners Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and book by Tony Award winners Bob Martin and Don McKellar, takes audiences on a wonderful journey back to the golden era of musical theatre... all without leaving one man’s New York apartment.

White Family Steps in Time with CLOC's Mary Poppins

Mary Poppins has delighted, entertained and enchanted generations of readers, movie audiences and theatregoers “in the most delightful way” with its tale of the magical nanny with her umbrella and bag of tricks.

When Melbourne’s CLOC Musical Theatre presents the Broadway musical adaptation of this magical tale in May, the show will be a real family affairor the White family.  Not only are husband and wife team Lynette and Chris co-directing the show, but Lynette is also choreographing and Chris is designing and painting the set.

Musical Tribute to Gallipoli at Garrick Theatre

GARRICK Theatre is paying tribute to those involved in the Gallipoli campaign, as part of 2015’s 100-year commemoration in April.

Split in two halves, Garrick Salutes Gallipoli features old-time music hall entertainment and a melodrama written by well-known local Guildford resident Bernard Doyle.

Arranged, compiled and directed by Kerry Goode and Susan Vincent, the music hall features World War I songs such as Keep The Home Fires Burning, There’s A Long Long Trail A Winding and There’s Something About A Soldier.

Four-Fendered Family Friend Flies into Adelaide

Ian Fleming’s wonderful family tale Chitty Chitty Bang Bang couldn’t be further removed from his famous James Bond series, except perhaps for the fact that very imaginative and fantastically equipped motor vehicles feature in each. Now the stage musical version of the classic story about the Potts family and a flying car is about to touch down in Adelaide for an April school holiday season, courtesy of Pelican Productions.

The Darling Buds of May on Perth Stage

THE TV adaptation shot Catherine Zeta-Jones to fame. Now the stage vrsion comes to Limelight Theatre (WA) this April.

Based on the H.E. Bates novel, The Darling Buds of May was a popular UK television show in the early 1990s focusing on the Larkin family – Pop, Ma and their six children – in Kent during the 1950s.

Pop is a loveable trader-cum-junk dealer who hasn’t paid any taxes, which soon prompts a visit from tax inspector Cedric Charlton.

Ruby Moon: Fairy Tale Whodunit for Perth

Part of the current drama curriculum for Year 11 and 12 students, Australian play Ruby Moon is being brought to life by ARENAarts this autumn.

Written by Matt Cameron and directed by Louise Collins at Belmont’s Latvian Centre Theatre, Ruby Moon starts off like a fairytale and eventually becomes a twisted whodunit set in sinister, contemporary suburbia.

EVITA for Launceston
