Run for your Wife at Penrith

Run for your Wife at Penrith

Run for your Wife, the hilarious British farce by Ray Cooney, ran for nine years on London’s West End, and NTT Productions brings it to Penrith for a limited run at the Q Theatre.

Run for your Wife tells the chaotic tale of London cabbie, John Smith, who comes to the aid of a mugging victim, only to find his heroic actions trigger the unravelling of his carefully planned double life, managing two wives and homes - with hilarious results.

"Being a farce, the audience can expect to see pratfalls, mistaken identities, manic comings and goings, trousers coming down, clothes coming off and our two bumbling protagonists trying to stay a step ahead of a couple of very suspicious policemen!” says director Carol Dicker.

Run for your Wife sits in the category of great British humour along with favourites like Four Weddings and a Funeral.

“It’s been described as a cross between Some Mothers Do ‘ave ‘em and ‘Allo ‘Allo, ” says Dicker. “It makes for an incredibly fun night out - and isn’t that what the theatre should be all about?”

Run for your Wife is playing at the Q Theatre, Penrith for three shows only - Friday August 12 at 8pm and Saturday August 13, 2011. For bookings call 4723 7600 or visit http://www.nttproductions.com
