Seussical The Musical

Stirling Players (WA) are presenting Seussical as part of the City of Stirling’s Summerset Festival from January 16 to 31, 2015.

Seussical is a fantasy musical based on the Dr Seuss books,  and many of his stories have been woven into this adventure.  This family musical is based mainly on Horton Hears a Who!, Horton Hatches the Egg and The One Feather Tail of Gertrude McFuzz.  There are numerous references to other stories such as Green Eggs and Ham, The Grinch and of course The Cat in the Hat.

Seussical explores universal themes of love, loyalty, perseverance and the keeping of promises, in a fun way through a range of musical genres.  It is a wonderful show that will appeal to people of all ages.

Director, Fran Gordon is happy to again be working with musical director, June Clark and choreographer, Peta Flanigan.  This trio have previously worked together on the musicalsFlapper and Eros and Psyche.

Before the two Saturday matinees, there will be children’s activities from 1.15 to 1.45pm.

Playing dates:  evenings January 16, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31 at 8 pm; matinees January 17, 18, 24, 25 at 2 pm.

Ticket prices:  $25 full, $20 members, $22 concession, $15 child (under 16), $70 family (2 adults and 2 children).
