MoonGlow Back with 42nd Street

Wollongong theatre company MoonGlow Productions is returning to the stage in 2019 after a four-year hiatus with Broadway favourite musical 42nd Street.

The show, which plays at Shellharbour’s Roo Theatre ofrom May 31 to June 9, is another family affair for the popular theatre company, boasting a cast of siblings, partners and parents and their children.!

Director Wendy Glover, who shares production duties with her husband Michael and daughter Bec, said it was a thrill to return to the Illawarra theatre scene.!

‘Hey Big Spender, spend a little time’ at Willoughby

From Friday May 24th, 2019, Willoughby Theatre Company is bringing back the classic musical Sweet Charity to Sydney’s North Shore - 35 years after the company first staged the show.

Exploring the turbulent love life of Charity Hope Valentine, hopelessly romantic, but comically hapless dance hall hostess in New York City, the show is a Broadway favourite.

Play On!tells the story of a plucky community theatre group trying desperately to produce a murder mystery play with a plot which doesn’t actually have a murder, an interfering playwright who keeps changing the script, and an increasingly disgruntled cast and crew. 

God of Carnage for Cronulla

Arts Theatre Cronulla's new production is God of Carnage, a satiric comedy by award-winning French playwright Yasmina Reza, who has been referred to as one of the greatest comedy writers of our time. The play made its London debut in 2008 and subsequently won a Laurence Olivier Award, with the Broadway production earning a Tony Award for best play.

Farcical Leading Ladies at Castle Hill

Les Mis Set to Storm Barricade in Ararat

In 2019 Ararat Musical Comedy Society in Victoria will stage the biggest and most ambitious production in its 46 year history, Les Misérables.

Les Misérables has attracted a cast of 60 from across the region including Ballarat, Stawell and Ararat.

The production is being led by director Pam Wright, who returns to AMCS after previously directing shows including Dusty the Original Pop Diva.

Musical Director is Stephen East and Vocal Director Leanne McCready.

AFL Gets A Comic Twist in Guild’s Managing Carmen

The next production at The Guild Theatre is Managing Carmen, Australian playwright David Williamson’s 2012 comedy.

Brent (played by Russell Godwin) is a young, handsome AFL star. Brent’s ruthless manager Rohan (David Hines) is loud-mouthed, abrasive and loves all the money that Brent is making him. Rohan is being offered hundreds of thousands of dollars for advertisements with Brent’s endorsement but he cannot put Brent in front of the cameras; Brent is a completely wooden actor and cannot learn to loosen up.
