Watch Out Miranda: The Heathers Are In Town

Watch Out Miranda: The Heathers Are In Town

HEATHERS THE MUSICAL is the stage adaptation of the cult 80s classic film with Winona Ryder and Christian Slater(ranked among the top five in EW’s list of the “Greatest High School Movies of All Time”), created by the award-winning team of Kevin Murphy (Reefer Madness, “Desperate Housewives”), Laurence O’Keefe (Bat Boy, Legally Blonde) and Andy Fickman (Reefer Madness, She’s the Man).

It tells the dark story of Veronica Sawyer (Emma Taviani), a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: ‘The Heathers’(a trio of shoulder-padded hotties all named Heather). When Heather Chandler (Tanya Boyle) exiles Veronica, she teams up with the mysteriously gorgeous J.D. (Daniel Cullen), then like a string of dominos, the pair ignite a series of deaths that become suspiciously in vogue among the high school hierarchy.

Miranda Musical Society’s production of this cult classic rests in the hands of Meg Day (director), Josh Ransom (musical director) and Tracey Blankenship (choreographer).

HEATHERS THE MUSICAL is a moving love story, a laugh-out-loud comedy and an unflinching look at the joys and anguish of high school.

Suitable for a mature audience with drug, sex & offensive language.
