Bell Shakespeare Announces Full Cast for The Lovers World Premiere

Bell Shakespeare has announced the full cast of the upcoming production and world premiere of The Lovers, a pop musical written by young Australian writer and composer Laura Murphy reimagining Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with an original score.

Hairspray Announces Adelaide and Sydney Seasons

The producers of the original Tony Award winning Broadway production of Hairspray have announced that the production, which is soon to premiere at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre, will be touring to Adelaide and Sydney from late 2022.

Director Jack O’Brien (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and Choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots), lead the original Broadway creative team to present the big hair and big-hearted musical Hairspray in Australia as originally intended.

Eireborne Kicks Off National Tour

Australian Irish rock show Eireborne kicks off its national tour on Friday 29 July 2022 at the Palais in Melbourne, a city it hasn’t previously visited.

Following sold out shows across Australia and Europe, Eireborne is 2.5 years in the making, having been knocked down by Covid restrictions twice and has kept getting up, striving to bring great entertainment to audiences despite the challenges.

Amadeus Launches Opera House 50th Anniversary Program

Acclaimed Welsh actor and producer Michael Sheen (The Twilight Saga, Frost/Nixon, The Queen, Tron: Legacy, Masters of Sex, Good Omens, Amadeus) will star as Salieri in a new production of Peter Shaffer’s Tony and Academy Award®-winning masterpiece Amadeus.  Portraying the artistic rivalry of two great classical composers – Salieri and Mozart – the show is the first event to be announced as part of the Opera House’s year-long 50th anniversary celebrations, supported by the NSW Gover
