And No More Shall We Part

And No More Shall We Part

After a long and successful marriage, Pam (Linda Cropper) and Don (Russell Kiefel) are still very much in love. But Pam is ill and has to make a heartbreaking decision that will transform both their lives. She does so in the only way she knows how – quickly, pragmatically, and resolutely. Don behaves in the only way he knows how – struggling to keep up but desperate not to lose touch.

The winner of the 2010 AWGIE for Best Play and the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, And No More Shall We Part is by Tasmanian playwright Tom Holloway; the man behind the acclaimed works Beyond the Neck, Love Me Tender and Red Sky Morning. Holloway is celebrated as one of Australia’s most exciting young playwrights and is lauded for his ability to blend touches of humour with the confronting and poignant subject matters he addresses.

And No More Shall We Part reunites Holloway with Griffin’s Artistic Director Sam Strong, whose previous collaboration Red Sky Morning won the Green Room Award for Best New Australian Writing for the Stage in 2008 and toured nationally in 2010. Strong returns to The Stables as director, following his highly praised staging of Griffin’s sold out season of Speaking in Tongues earlier this year.

Strong said, "I'm thrilled to be reunited with Tom Holloway. He's now firmly established as one of the hottest writers in the country and And No More Shall We Part will be a uniquely intimate and powerful experience. Tom takes two everyday people and places them in an extraordinary situation. He allows us to imagine the unimaginable and it's a privilege to work on such a beautifully told and affecting story.”
