King and I Cast Announced

Opera Australia Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini and theatre producer John Frost have announced the principal cast for the 2014 revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I, co-produced by the Gordon Frost Organisation and Opera Australia

Darlinghurst Theatre Company 2014: Inaugural Eternity Playhouse Season

Darlinghurst Theatre Company has announced a program of contemporary and classic drama for its inaugural season at the Eternity Playhouse, Sydney’s exciting new theatre venue.  

Announced earlier this year, Darlinghurst Theatre Company will open Eternity Playhouse with Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, which will preview from November 1, and open on November 5. Directed by Iain Sinclair, All My Sons is a compelling and heartbreaking story about family ties, patriotic duty and personal greed.

Helen Reddy to Tour in 2014

Helen Reddy is back on stage after more than a decade off the road, playing Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth from 5 April, 2014.

Crowned “Queen of 70’s Pop” and the 28thbest adult contemporary artist of all time by Billboard Magazine (2011), Helen Reddy has more than a dozen Top 40 hits including the iconic anthem I Am Woman, which was added to the National Film and Sound Archive in Australia in 2009.

Glen Street Theatre 2014 Season

Glen Street Theatre in Belrose, NSW, has announced the line up of drama, music, satire and comedy headed for the Glen Street stage in 2014.

The 2014 Season will start a little later than usual due to theatre renovations. Mayor of Warringah, Michael Regan said, “2014 is going to be a memorable year in Glen Street history – when we see the opening of our refurbished foyer, the beginning of work on our new Cultural Hub and a wonderful season of productions from stages all over Australia.”

Rocky Horror Cast Announced

Casting has been announced for the 2014 Australian tour of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show which opens in January 2014 at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC, Brisbane followed by seasons at the Crown Theatre, Perth in February, the Festival Theatre, Adelaide in March, and the Comedy Theatre, Melbourne in April.

Sydney lawyer Tony Laumberg has written and produced 13 successful seasons of his unique brand of comic plays. The do-it-yourself theatre maker writes the plays, promotes the shows and even sells the tickets front of house. On the eve of his latest play The Good, The Bad and the Lawyer in Sydney he shared a coffee with David Spicer.

“What’s the difference between a lawyer and a laboratory rat? When the laboratory rat dies at least someone cares.”

State Theatre Company of SA Season 2014

Geordie Brookman, artistic director of State Theatre Company Of South Australia, announced their program for 2014 at Adelaide Festival Centre’s Dunstan Playhouse on the morning of Friday September 27, 2013. And it’s going to be another diverse one as it mixes classics such as Chekhov’s The Seagull, Shakespeare’s Othello and Oscar Wilde’s The Importance Of Being Earnest alongside new works from up and coming Australian playwrights.
