ONCE AUDITIONS ANNOUNCED

ONCE, the Tony Award-winning stage musical about friendship, love and music will make its Australian premiere in Melbourne next year, opening at the Princess Theatre on 4 October 2014.

Producers John Frost and Phil Bathols are looking for talented performers ‘out of the musical theatre box’ who will need to sing, move, act and play a musical instrument.

Based on the independent Irish film which captivated audiences around the world, and won an Oscar for Best Song (“Falling Slowly”), ONCE follows the bittersweet romance of a struggling busker and a Czech immigrant.

The musical features the collection of songs about love and heartbreak from the original film by Glen Hansard (The Commitments) and Markéta Irglová. ONCE has been adapted for the stage by the celebrated Irish playwright and screenwriter, Enda Walsh (Disco Pigs and Hunger) and UK theatre director John Tiffany, who will also direct the Australian production.

Online Video Submissions can be submitted from today, September 17 until October 18, 2013.

1st Round of Live Auditions will be held in Sydney December 2 and in Melbourne, December 7
