& JULIET for Sydney in February

The award-winning pop musical & JULIET is coming to Sydney in February 2024 after a spectacular sold-out season in Melbourne. The Australian production is led by Lorinda May Merrypor in the title role, Rob Mills will hold the quill as Shakespeare while Amy Lehpamer tries to rewrite the narrative as his wife Anne.

Shen Yun 2024 Australia Tour

“Exquisite beauty from the heavens. Profound wisdom from dynasties past. Discover authentic Chinese culture,” is the invitation from Shen Yun Performing Arts, the classical Chinese dance and music company, returning to Australia in 2024 with an all-new production.

Shen Yun, a New York-based company, was founded in 2006 by a group of Chinese artists, with a dream of creating a renaissance for their ancient heritage.

 

Red Stitch 2024 Season

The ensemble-led Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre in Melbourne has revealed its 2024 season, featuring six plays including four Australian premieres and two returning productions back by popular demand. 

Kicking off in February thanks to a hugely successful 2023 run this year, Monument by the 2022 Max Afford Playwrights Award Finalist Emily Sheehan, returns for a limited season not to be missed. 

2023 Sydney Theatre Awards Nominations

Nominations were announced today (December 19) for the 2023 Sydney Theatre Awards, which will be presented at an industry gala ceremony on Monday 29 January 2024 at 7pm at the York Theatre, Seymour Centre.

Barry Humphries Lights Up Opera House

The Sydney Opera House was lit up to honour the late Barry Humphries, following his state memorial service organised by the NSW and Federal Governments which was held in the Concert Hall today (December 15).

The 89-year-old entertainer, who passed away earlier this year, was honoured by an extraordinary array of celebrities ranging from King Charles to media mogul Rupert Murdoch, Elton John, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh.

Theatre Works Season 2024

Theatre Works in Melbourne has announced its 2024 season, an extensive line-up featuring over 40 productions, a testament to Theatre Works' commitment to championing independent artists, diverse perspectives and unique forms.

“This program solidifies Theatre Works place in the Australian theatrical ecology as one of the most prolific and vital venues in the country, championing independent artists, theatrical exploration, new and diverse voices and exemplary senior artists,” saysDianne Toulson, Executive Director and Creative Producer.

Shane Jacobson and Todd McKenney Star in The Odd Couple

Shane Jacobson and Todd McKenney are the archetypal odd couple, as different as chalk and cheese, but best mates and constant collaborators. Since they met on the Channel 7 TV series The Real Full Monty several years ago, the friends have worked together on TV in Mates on a Mission and The All New Monty, and on stage in The Rocky Horror Show and Hairspray (as husband and wife).
