Lovers of independent theatre in Melbourne all knew and loved The Owl and The Pussycat Theatre, a strange little shop adorned with tiles depicting Edward Lear’s poem, with a flat upstairs and a bar under the stairs. Man with a Mission

With the Heart of St Kilda charity concert on 6th September, 2016, Coral Drouyn talks to the amazing Brian Nankervis.

Brian Nankervis is better known to some of us as the marvellous comic beat poet Raymond J Bartholomeuz, or (if you’re a little young to remember the eighties) as the co-creator  and adjudicator of the fabulous Rockwiz, SBS’ great contribution to entertainment and nostalgia. But to the people of  St Kilda, Brian is a local, and a bloody good bloke and they owe him a lot, especially those in need.
