Anthony Warlow to Star in Fiddler on the Roof

A brand new production of Fiddler on the Roof starring Anthony Warlow will open at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre on December 29thplaying for 6 weeks only. The production will also play a limited 6 week season in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre from March 24th, 2016. Tickets will go on sale on Friday 25thSeptember from Ticketmaster. 

State Theatre Company of South Australia Season 2016

In 2016, State Theatre Company will play on stages across South Australia, around the country and, for the first time ever, in London. The 2016 season sees 6 co-productions amongst the 10 show season, reaffirming the Company’s position in the national theatre sphere and nurturing a new relationship with leading UK company Frantic Assembly.

Two years of development with Frantic Assembly will come to fruition in 2016, taking State Theatre Company to London with the world premiere of Things I Know To Be True, a new work by Australian playwright Andrew Bovell.

Bell Shakespeare: Season 2016

Bell Shakespeare, Australia’s national theatre company dedicated to the sharing of the plays of William Shakespeare and his contemporaries with Australian audiences, has unveiled it’s 2016 program, the first under the sole Artistic Directorship of Peter Evans (pictured left, photographer Tony Davison).

Melbourne Theatre Company Artistic Director Brett Sheehy AO has announced MTC’s 2016 Season.

Belvoir Season 2016

With the announcement of Belvoir’s 2016 Season, Eamon Flack becomes the third Artistic Director in Belvoir’s 30-year history.

‘I learnt my craft under Neil Armfield and began my mainstage directing career under Ralph Myers– it’s the best possible apprenticeshipyou could get for a job as fiendishly wonderful as this.’

Flack comes to the position with three key values central to his endeavour: theatricality, variety of life and faith in humanity.

Sydney Theatre Company 2016 Season

Sydney Theatre Company has announced its 2016 season, the last programmed by outgoing Artistic Director Andrew Upton who leaves the company at the end of 2015, handing the reins to his successor, Jonathan Church.

Among the highlights, Rose Byrne, Lisa McCune and John Howard - artists who have not been seen on STC stages for a decade or more - feature alongside STC audience favourites including Robyn Nevin, Sarah Peirse, Helen Thomson, Heather Mitchell, Ryan Corr, Genevieve Lemon and Josh McConville.

There’s An Animal In My Play

Two of Australia’s brightest female playwrights have made animals the centre of attention in new productions debuting on different sides of the country. In Hannie Rayson’s case the furry creature looks cute but has a nasty personality. For Lally Katz a cuddly pet cat is the star, but it’s the owners that have issues. David Spicer reports.

Griffin Theatre Company Season 2016

Artistic Director Lee Lewis announced the 2016 Griffin Theatre Company season today (August 31, 2015). Five brand new plays will make their world premieres on the SBW Stables stage next year.

Malthouse Theatre Season 2016

In 2016, Malthouse Theatre invites audiences to ‘think again’ about what is happening politically and personally in the world around us, and to rethink stories we might assume are familiar, in the first season programmed by newly appointed Artistic Director Matthew Lutton (pictured right - photographer: Andrew Gough).
