Cirque Adrenaline

Cirque Adrenaline
Produced by QPAC in association with Tim Lawson and Simon Painter. Concert Hall, QPAC. January 7 – 17, 2015

With over 30 elite athletes and performers, Cirque Adrenaline brings together a combination of intense acrobatics and death-defying stunts in a performance that will have you on the edge of your seat.

If you have a love for motorcycles, fire-breathing acrobats, half naked men and brilliantly choreographed gymnastics, then this show is for you. Every inch of this production is polished to perfection with stunts that allow no room for error, which for the faint hearted is a cue to cover your eyes. In the moments where the audience was breathing a sigh of relief, the small interludes were filled with the hilarity of the Emcee (Darren Partridge) who tied everything together with his quick wit and perfect comedic timing.

One of the highlights of this production was the consistent unison of the audiences reactions. Gasping, cringing, laughing, clapping and in the end they gave a unified standing ovation.

Every twist and turn throughout the 2 hour show, had the audience eating out of the palms of the performers’ hands, proving that the sheer skill and athleticism of these performers was not something you would see in your usual Cirque performance.

This death-defying correlation of perfectly timed routines and show-stopping stunts, will no doubt be the anchor of the show’s success. I would encourage everyone to take themselves on a night out for this short 10-show season before it moves on.
