Nadia Collins in Virgin Bloody Mary

Nadia Collins in Virgin Bloody Mary
Fringe World. Directed by Nadia Collins. Rosie O'Grady's, James St, Northbridge, WA. Feb 5-9, 2018

When you receive a phone call from God asking you to become pregnant with the Son of God, what is a girl to do? In Virgin Bloody Mary, Nadia Collins is an anti-heroine, rebel antithesis to the Virgin Mary, who chooses the wrong sperm and becomes pregnant with the Son of Satan.

Played in an Irish pub, almost opposite the Greek Orthodox Cathedral, it might be best to avoid this one if you are very religious or afraid of being struck down by lightning. There is also lots of audience interaction in this one hour, wordless romp, which in Nadia Collins’ own words is "a bit silly”.

Highly expressive, Collins plays her audience well and demands attention and participation. Her audience gleefully play along, with this very likeable comedienne.

If you a fan of physical, irreverent comedy, this is a great Fringe World choice.
