Iona Presentation College’s Cinderella was one of the first big school productions of the year. A lavish show with a big budget feel, this Cinderella was a delight.

Jade Spirito in the title role, was a beautiful Cinderella with lots of personality and a gorgeous voice.

Strong, larger than life performances from Courtney Preston and Mikaela Giancaspro as nasty stepsisters Grace and Joy, showing lovely teamwork.

Junior Theatre Celebration Day for Australia

The first Australian Junior Theatre Celebration will be held in Newcastle on October 20, 2016. This Broadway JuniorTM event will host national and international musical theatre celebrities and provide opportunities for young people to celebrate their love of musical theatre.

The Junior Theatre Celebration Australia 2016 is anticipated to host between eight and 16 performing arts groups from across the country. Participants will perform on stage at the Civic Theatre in this one-day celebration.

472 hours of rehearsal, 196 hours of set building, lighting and sound rigging, 326 wheels, 154 skates, 83 performers, 25 crew, 13 musicians, 4 races, 1 champion - the entire ensemble became the champion in what was both a huge challenge and a very fulfilling experience!

Funniest High School Kids

Australia’s biggest schools comedy competition reached its climax on Sunday 19 June at the Enmore Theatre.

After 6 weeks of heats and semi-finals involving 120 schools from all over Greater Sydney, the cream of the young comedy crop final had the chance to face off for the cup in two divisions of the Theatresports Schools Challenge – now in its 12th year!

17 schools competed in the two finals with a packed Enmore Theatre crowd of more than 1200 fans roaring their approval for each.

Shakespeare Carnival Winners

Sport For Jove Theatre Company’s first ever Shakespeare Carnival reached its conclusion with State Finals on Saturday 18 June at the Seymour Centre in Sydney.

Students from twelve schools competed in the exciting climax to the four-month bard fest.

Beginning in March, entrants from all over NSW participated in Shakespeare Carnivals within their own schools, with the winners moving on to represent their school at the regional level against other schools.
