Black Stephen Sewell Comedy for Epping

Black Stephen Sewell Comedy for Epping

Theatre on Chester (Epping, NSW) present It Just Stopped by Stephen Sewell from April 12 – May 4, directed by Linda Lorenza.

It Just Stopped is a more than a black comedy – it questions what we will value the day the world just stops, and what we would be willing to trade for our own survival.

Franklin, a music critic for the New York Review of Books and Beth, a radio producer for a local Shock Jock, live on the 43rd floor  of an apartment building with a feature wall made of jellybeans. They wake up one morning to find that nothing works and everything seems to have just stopped.

Some time later, two crass Australians knock on their door with an offer they surely can’t refuse. What happens next is a Pinteresque and dark journey into the absurd.

Stephen Sewell, who has been described as ‘our most provocative playwright’ has written a script full of rollercoasters which explores our relationships with art, globalisation, technology and America.
