CLOC Superstar to Rock St Kilda

CLOC Superstar to Rock St Kilda

More than 40 years since Jesus Christ Superstar first premiered in St Kilda, CLOC Musical Theatre will bring a completely new and re-imagined Superstar to the historic National Theatre, dramatized with emotional intensity, thought-provoking edge and explosive theatricality.

A global phenomenon, Jesus Christ Superstaris a timeless work set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally-known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas.

Starring in the title role of Jesus is Daniel Mottau. VCA trained and a graduate of The Australian Film and Television Academy, Daniel brings a delicate balance of rock and lyric tenor to this pivotal role.

Daniel is joined by Melbourne theatre mainstay Scott MacKenzie, who has played lead roles in productions ranging from Frankenstein to Les Misérables, as Judas.

Rounding out the three lead performers is Katie Weston of St Kilda as Mary Magdalene. Trained at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music under Tim Smith, Katie’s career stretches from the stage to wedding and nightclub bands along with international corporate performances.

Jesus Christ Superstar will rock St Kilda’s National Theatre Melbourne from October 7-22, 2016 for twelve performances, including two Sunday matinees on October 9 and 16.
