Koorliny Arts Centre 2014 Season

Koorliny Arts Centre 2014 Season

In what might be the country's first 2014 Season Launch, Koorliny Arts Centre, in Kwinana (WA) announced its 2014 line up at a well attended ceremony on the 12th of July.

Guests included the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, many City of Kwinana Councillors, local politicians, managers of other Arts Centres, Koorliny's sponsors and members of the WA Independent Theatre community.

The year kicks off with what will probably be the WA Premiere, of the new Mel Brooks Musical, Young Frankenstein. Directed by Brad Tudor, this re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend will probably open the WA theatre season, premiering on January 17.

The ever-popular family musical, Annie, will play in May. Directed by Katherine and Justin Friend, its announcement was greeted with popular acclaim.

Arts Centre manager Ryan Taafe will direct Xanadu, which will grace Koorliny's stage in August.

The season will close with a production of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Directed by Paul Treasure, Cinderella will open on October 31 and run for two weeks into November.

Koorliny Arts Centre's manager manager thanked their sponsors, their main partner the Kwinana Industries Council and The Kwinana Courier Community newspaper, Street Hassle Events, Roger Cook MLA, KPC Accounting and the City of Kwinana. He further announced that their relationship with their principal partner will continue at least through to the end of the 2016 season.
