Larrikin Servant in Castle Hill Farce

Larrikin Servant in Castle Hill Farce

A streetwise larrikin servant is on the loose at the Pavilion Theatre in Castle Hill, out to play both aristocratic ends against the middle, in Castle Hill Players latest production, The Servant of Two Masters, from May 15.

Adapted from the original Italian by celebrated Australian playwright Nick Enright, and Ron Blair, ‘Servant’ is the story of Truffaldino, working man on the rise, who seeks to satisfy the competing demands of two masters who have a lot more in common than their rascally employee. Secret identities, star-crossed lovers and sleight-of-hand abound in this rollicking, fast-paced farce.

Director Peter Rhodes has brought together an energetic cast for the production. ‘We’ve laughed ourselves breathless during rehearsals. When real life’s looking gloomy, this kind of unbridled frolic is a wonderful pick-me-up.’

The Servant of Two Mastersis part of the ‘Adventures in the Foyer’ series at the Pavilion Theatre. The play is performed in a cabaret setting, with snacks and drinks available from the bar.

‘Servant’ opens Wednesday May 15th, 2013, and runs Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8.15 pm with matinee performances Sat May 25thand Sunday May 19thand 26that 4.30 pm.
