MUSE Announces Rep Season: Spelling Bee and Company
Following the success of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Sydney University Musical Theatre Ensemble (MUSE) will stage two contrasting productions, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Company as part of their Repertory season at the King Street Theatre, Newtown.
Directed by Jonathon Rush, musically directed by Oli Cameron, and Produced by Chloe Pryce, William Finn’s The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will be staged from the 30th of September to the 12th of October. The one act musical comedy follows 6 misfit adolescents as they compete in their local spelling bee. Nominated for 6 Tony Awards in 2005 and winner of 2, this is an hilarious, heart-warming, fast-paced and surprising show that will leave you cachinnating (cach-in-nate: to laugh loudly or immoderately).

It also follows his best friends, and his three girl friends. This two-time Tony Award winning musical has been nominated for countless Drama Desk, Tony and Industry awards; making it a cherished and favoured musical.
