OCPAC presents Catch Me If You Can
OCPAC are presenting Catch Me If You Can, a musical comedy based on the incredible true story and hit film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks,during September 2016 for eight shows only.
This high-flying musical comedy is about chasing your dreams and not getting caught. Seeking fame and fortune, precocious teenager Frank Abignale Jnr. (James Watkinson) runs away from home to begin and unforgettable adventure. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer – living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. But when Frank’s lies catch the attention of FBI Special Agent, Carl Hanratty (Alex Hatzikostas), Carl purses Frank across the country to make him pay for his crimes.
OCPAC’s production is lead by Director and Choreographer, Sam Hooper, whose most recent professional credits include performing in the Production Company’s Funny Girl and touring Australia and Asia with CATS. He also wrote, directed and starred in his own show that featured during the Melbourne Cabaret Festival, Death Suits You.
Hooper is “so excited to be working with the incredible cast. Catch Me If You Can is challenging in script, score and choreography, but the cast are smashing it out of the park!”
About Old Carey Performing Arts Club (OCPAC)
OCPAC started seven years ago, initiated by a group of school friends who wanted to continue creating and performing quality productions after they had finished school. The community has continued to grow exponentially within the Carey alumni and wider theatrical community in Melbourne.
