You'll rarely find a more literal title combining the three great words than “Naked Boys Singing!”

Naked Boys Singing will end its twelve year Off-Broadway run on January 28, 2012 after 3,069 performances and entertaining packed theatres filled with bachelorettes, gays, mums, husbands, girls and boyfriends. The production will be revamped and re-imagined when it opens in Australia in March 2012, with tickets on sale from January 10.

This hilarious musical comedy kicks down the taboo of the male body; you’ll blush at first, but then be thoroughly entertained with a collection of toe-tappin’ songs including “Gratuitous Nudity”,  “The Bliss of a Bris” which turns the religious act into a spirited romp of genital fear, “Fight the Urge” which takes the audience into the high school locker room where an errant erection could spell doom, “Perky Little Porn Star”, “The Naked Maid” and the laughable lyrics about how-to tenderize-your-meat in “Jack’s Song”.

The producer/director of Naked Boys Singing, Jonathan Worsley, is looking for eight male performers keen to shuck their clothes, strut their stuff and sing in the buff. Auditions will be held on December 8 and applicants should email their interest to

“Nudity on stage might been shocking during the era of Hair but this isn’t a show that sets out to shock; it’s genuinely surprising how after the first number you just accept the fact that everyone has all their bits out. It is nothing but good clean naked fun,” said Worsley. “Naked Boys Singing is a musical comedy for everyone of legal drinking age, funny songs about awkward moments we’ve all been in or can empathize with - and laughing at the ones we haven’t.”

Naked Boys Singing will tour to Wollongong, Canberra, Newcastle, Melbourne and Brisbane after a Sydney season at the Seymour Centre from March 13 - 17. 2012.
