Me, Myself and Everyone Else - Christina Bianco

Me, Myself and Everyone Else - Christina Bianco
Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Banquet Room Adelaide Festival Centre. June 8 - 10, 2018

Christina Bianco is a four foot eleven inch dynamo. Obviously excited to be making her debut at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, she swept a full house along on an A to Zee journey of divas.

From Edith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich, Billie Holliday and Judy Garland to Lisa Minelli and Julie Andrews, she used her love of these highly individual performers to produce a wonderful evening’s entertainment.

Bianco was able to capture the voices perfectly but in an interesting way, making her heroines sing songs we have never heard them perform and the audience loved it. She moved effortlessly between divas within songs demonstrating not only her technique but also her comedic abilities.

Her vocal range allowed her to capture not only the clarity and rounded vowels of Julie Andrews, one of my favourites, but also the power and earthiness of Whitney Houston. Her physicality matched the voice and her summoning of Lisa with a Zee Minelli in her final number was as close to seeing this diva live as most of us will get.

And her own voice had its own starring role too. Supported by a strong band, and with Joe Louis Robinson, musical director, pianist and occasional duet partner, the whole performance was a great way to start the Cabaret Festival.

Grab a ticket while you can. It’s a power packed fun evening out.
