Club Swizzle

Club Swizzle
Fringe World. Club Swizzle, The Ice Cream Factory, Roe St, Northbridge, WA. Feb 2 - 11, 2018

From the makers of La Soirée comes this year’s Fringe World headliner Club Swizzle. A sophisticated blend of circus and burlesque for adults, it is exciting, daring and a different night out.

The former fish warehouse on Roe St has been converted to what looks like a trendy, retro style bar, surrounded by some stadium seating. You wonder where on earth they are going to perform until the first ‘number’ consists of converting the bar into a stage.

Guest host for the Perth season is the deliciously camp Reuben Kaye. Fabulously flamboyant, and quick thinking, he is a clever compere who also sings beautifully.

A very impressive live band, The Unexpected Perks, live up to their name, with surprising skills and excellent accompaniment.

Stars of the show are the amazing Swizzle Boys. Brilliant acrobats who also ooze charm, Benjamin Lewis, Simon McClure, Will Underwood and Joren Dawson play bar tenders who pour cocktails from crazy places as they defy gravity in a series of circus performances.

Sexy and sizzling support acts include Dandy Wellington’s jazz song and dance, Belgian beauty Laurie Hagan’s bold, brassy and sometimes bizarre burlesque and the roller skating and kazoo playing eccentricities of Amy G.

Something for everyone, except the kiddies, Club Swizzle is an eclectic blend of the esoteric, edgy, erotic and exciting. Well worth a look.
