Electric Butterflies

Electric Butterflies
Kuah Jenhan. Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Mantra On Russell. March 29 – April 22, 2018

Kuah Jenhan has returned to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2018 with his brand new show - Electric Butterflies.

One of Malaysia’s brightest comedy talents, with sellout shows cross Asia, Jenhan is back with his unique Asian induced flavors to tantalize our exotic taste buds.

Electric Butterflies is a romantic comedy in sixty minutes. He doesn’t get the girl but he finds true love in true screwball comedy style.

Jenhan promises us his tales are three hundred percent Malaysian, a term equivalent to one hundred per cent Australian.

His tale goes back ten years; he is a now thirty-year-old man of the world, but back then he was a nerdy college student who belonged to a losers club.  A low emotional IQ, grappling with his corny romantic notions of love, equated to a Malaysian term of a ’falling star’ - a token love gift of a thousand origami folds that forms into a bulbous star. For Jenhan it only confirms the Malaysian proclamation of love - the more you suffer the more you love. Don’t call him old fashioned!

He meets a Muslim Uzbekistan lingerie model and learns the hard way - love is never easy. A kiss can make you a man (so he thought), a power point slide show and a bottle of champagne doesn’t always get the girl (both non-drinkers).

I love Jenhan’s honesty; he tells you to suspend your disbelief and enjoy his comic caper across the orient that will guarantee you many laughs. It sure does!

Electric Butterflies is a gorgeous and hilarious tale about love and innocence.

A funny show. Go and see it. You will enjoy the experience.
