The Escape Room:- The Speakeasy

The Escape Room:- The Speakeasy
Fringe World. Directed by Richard Maritzer. The Pleasure Garden, Russell Square, Northbridge, WA. Jan 27 - Feb 25, 2018

Whether you are Fringe Binging or just having small tastes of Fringe World, having a varied diet is key to having a healthy outlook. Whether your usual tastes run to theatre, music, cabaret or comedy, I highly recommend spicing up your Fringe experience with a trip to The Escape Room:- The Speakeasy.

This pop-up Escape Room is a single use venue, a small air-conditioned space that has been transformed into the back room of a 1930s Speakeasy. Eight guests are transformed into bootleggers and employees of the speakeasy, but the cops are on their way and you have just 45 minutes to hide all of the booze or face arrest!

Not just a matter of stuffing bottles under cushions, you will need to follow clues and solve puzzles in order to stash the grog. Host Richard Maritzer has created a lively, dramatic storyline and has created clues tricky enough to keep ardent puzzlers on their toes. Unlike many escape rooms, your host is within easy reach to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Approximately 20% of teams are managing to escape the premises unscathed, with my team managing to complete all of the tasks with less than a minute to spare.

If you have never tried an Escape Room before, The Escape Room:- The Speakeasy is a great starting point, and you won’t find more dynamic team mates than at Fringe World. Sessions run multiple times each evening, and you meet near the mermaids. A wonderful escape from the usual Fringe Fare.
