Fafi D’Alour Uncut

Fafi D’Alour Uncut
Adelaide Fringe – Ukiyo at Gluttony. Presented by Delinquent Creatives. 17-25 February 2024

Five women bring music, movement, and acrobatics together to entertain and titillate in this return season from Fringe favourites, Delinquent Creatives.

Eliza Dickson’s vocals are fabulous – reaching those big notes with power and distance: her held notes left us out of breath, and she has the perfect voice for her raunchy vocals.

The two dancers Sarah Wilson and Tara Beyne look a little nervous when they first emerge, but once they find their places, their confidence and abilities soar – captivating the audience with in-your-face choreography and more sensual, fluid movements on and over a chair.

Georgia Rose’s aerial work is tremendously impressive – whether she is twisting herself around the rope, or spinning around the stage, her strength and agility is incredible. And she’s damn cheeky on the dance floor too.

And the leader of the pack, Fafi D’Alour, with her outrageous costumes, unending dance moves, and knowing winks to the audience. She plays with fire (literally) and struts around the stage with supreme confidence and ownership – and so she should, for this show she has created is a great way to end a night out at the Fringe – it’s racy, thrilling, suspenseful, and with a huge amount of local talent on show.
