Inspired

Sarah Brownridge is a name to look out for in the future.  This young singer has a lot of promise as a performer and a beautiful voice. She presented her first solo professional show during this Fringe and was very well received by a good-sized audience at the Richmond Hotel.  

The winner of the Ron Denning Vocal Award 2017 at the Generations of Jazz Festival in Mount Gambier, Brownridge has the technique, passion and work ethic to make a career in music.

Brownridge chose a range of jazz, soul and popular songs all written by women who have inspired her and others with their lyrics and beautiful music.  These included Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Madonna and Kylie Minogue.

Mike Bevan provided a highly accomplished accompaniment on guitar, his greater experience in performing providing Brownridge with an excellent scaffold on which to build her performance.

Inspired is an accomplished and polished performance by Brownridge for her first foray into the Adelaide Fringe. I look forward to seeing what she can achieve in the future.
