Kermond Comedy Capers
First there was Dad and Dave, now there is Warren and Wayne – and sometimes Zan.
That is 78 year old Warren Kermond, his son Wayne-Scott (multiple decades younger) and his son 21 year Zan.
The trio were a hit this year at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. An act that brought together 124 years of show business experience.
They are described as generation three, four and five of a show business dynasty. One can only imagine the shtick at their Christmas dinners.
In this incarnation Warren and Wayne kept the young audience at Monkey Baa theatre and their parents thoroughly entertained for just over an hour.
Grandad dances with such panache and energy that it makes some in the audience comment ‘is that safe for a man his age?’. Wayne relishes playing the child. They horse around, play with the spotlight, throw plenty of Minties and impress with their soft shoe shuffles.
Wayne Scott Kermond says his Dad is raring to keep going. There are now plans for more productions of their two and three man show.
“As he get older he is quite remarkable. When the footlights hit him he is a bundle of energy. He’s got a plethora of gags in his head,” he said.
The art of being a Song and Dance Man is in safe hands.
