Lawrence Leung - Very Strange Things

Lawrence Leung - Very Strange Things
The Arts Space. Adelaide Cabaret Festival. June 13 and 14, 2018

Are you someone who likes the mystery in life? Or are you some one who likes to solve mysteries and is quite sceptical? Lawrence Leung is a sceptic who likes to solve mysteries and to illustrate this quandary he examined the idea of ESP.

Using random selection techniques Leung picked members of the audience to participate in a variety of experiments. These were a mixture of traditional ‘mind reading’, understanding of physical tics that give away information gained from questions and classic ‘magical’ or conman mysteries. Leung performed these experiments in a way to cause his fair quota of applause and ‘oohs’ and a lot of internal questioning about how he solved the puzzle.

Leung’s delivery was a low-key mix of engaging conversation, stand-up comedy, philosophy and science. It was a different evening out and one that I enjoyed very much.

And yes, he did reveal one of the mind-reading secrets to those who chose to keep their eyes open, however, I’m not at liberty to reveal it. To find out how to be certain to identify what symbol has been picked catch this show where you can and then you too can be a mindreader.
