Squeaky Clean Comedy

Squeaky Clean Comedy
Candlelight Productions. Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Melbourne City Conference Centre, 333 Swanston Street, Melbourne. 1, 7 & 8 April, 2017.

Squeaky Clean Comedy includes a culturally diverse line-up of award-winning comedians. This show is specifically designed as a family friendly event keeping the humour suitable for all ages. The humour is never watered down and the innuendo remains in a diplomatic and tasteful sphere. Michael Connell is a masterful MC and he keeps the show going at a cracking and hilarious pace. The individual acts provide a fabulous opportunity to see a variety of performers currently participating in the Comedy Festival and provides a real showcase of Australian and NZ talent.

Comedians in the line-up include Simon Taylor, Angus Gordon, Michael Shafar, Diana Nguyen, Mark Trenwith, Aaron Pratt, John Englezos, ventriloquist, Sarah Jones, and poetry performer, Mike Klimczak. Each performer provided a different perspective on Australian culture, and national and global politics. Their unique perspectives highlight how the differences that fuel divisions in society are frequently absurd and nonsensical. This show provides a fresh approach to comedy and shows that great humour and cultural sensitivity can go hand-in-hand.

Candlelight Productions specialises in creating community events that support worthy causes and build community relationships. The show is oriented towards creating a live comedy event that is insightful without being too confronting, and while this is not always as easy balance to strike, Squeaky Clean Comedy goes a long way in proving it can be done.
