Suavé

Suavé
The Pink Flamingo Spiegeland in Northshore, Brisbane. 98 Bincote Street, Northshore, Hamilton. 19 December 2023 - 30 March 2024.

Step into the captivating world of Suavé at The Pink Flamingo Spiegeland in Brisbane, a dazzling showcase of sensational performances, breathtaking acrobatics, and unapologetically risqué entertainment. This production, brought to life by The Pink Flamingo, sparkles with its remarkable performances and audacious displays.

The ambiance within The Pink Flamingo Spiegeland is electric. From the preshow jazz bar lounge, where Tiffany O'Connor enchants with her Jessica Rabbit-like persona and captivating singing, to the stage performances, there's an undeniable energy. However, Suavé isn't a show for the faint-hearted or family outings. It boldly ventures into mature themes with explicit jokes, alcohol-centered segments, and sexually suggestive innuendos, making it unsuitable for younger audiences.

This production boasts a stellar cast of talented and versatile performers, each bringing their unique flair. Together, they craft an evening that celebrates the art of entertainment. With their prowess in dance, acrobatics, and aerial arts, the show promises a journey into a world of awe-inspiring performances and infectious energy.

Some of the exhilarating highlights of the show include a nail-biting knife throwing performance, and a beautifully enchanting aerial dance inside and around a giant birdcage. Throughout the show, a wide array of tantalizing costumes and an almost hypnotic projected backdrop make for a very vivid performance. The aesthetics were complimented beautifully by the dazzling lighting designers who seemed to make every single sequin sparkle. And future audiences - beware! The bathtub scene is great fun, but the front row turns into a splash zone!

Standing out amongst the performers was the enchanting Tiffany O'Connor who stole the show throughout. Reminiscent of the bodacious Jessica Rabbit cartoon character, O’Connor was mesmerizing with her sultry singing that started off the show in the style of a jazzy lounge bar. Occasionally, her voice was unfortunately lost beneath the music, but this may be attributed to the sound designed in an empty space that was only furnished a few days prior to opening night. Nevertheless, her grace and poise persisted amongst any technical hiccups, showcasing her exceptional talent amidst adversity.

The Pink Flamingo Spiegeland's visionaries, Tony Rigas, Susan Porrett, and Peter J Snee, alongside choreographer Daniella Winter, have curated a production that promises nothing short of an unforgettable night. As the newest addition to Brisbane's entertainment landscape, the venue boasts 400 seats, multiple indoor and outdoor bars. The Pink Flamingo team have created an extraordinary venue that glamorously merges burlesque-style entertainment into a party pavilion. The venue is set up to host three resident productions— “Suavé”, “La Teaze”, and “Ripped” — offering audiences a riotous blend of cabaret, burlesque, comedy, acrobatics, and more.
