Commedia dell’Arte Teaching Resources

Commedia dell’Arte Teaching Resources

Make A Scene is a theatre arts education company specialising in Commedia dell’Arte - the stylised Italian comedy of the 16th century. They deliver fun, interactive theatre performances and workshops to schools around the country and in 2020 they celebrate our 10th year anniversary.

“Your ability to engage an ensemble from the very beginning of the workshop is a testament to not only your expertise in commedia but also your manner with students. Thank you for an authentic commedia experience.” (Marcus Pinnel, Artistic Director, Adamson Theatre Company, Wesley College)

As a result of Covid-19, like many arts organisations they have lost all their income and aren’t sure when they’ll be back in show business… BUT the show must go on so they’ve cleverly reimagined their commedia work for schools by creating resources for teaching comedy, slapstick and commedia online and in the classroom.

These resources, are a lifeline for the company and the independent artists involved. Check out their resources.

HOMEMADE COMEDY TEACHERS’ RESOURCE *

This resource - which is adaptable for both primary and secondary students - has already received high praise:

" I purchased the digital pack for $60 and peeps I can't rave enough. It is fabulous. The package has links to vimeo - professional clips by her actors showing individual physical offers based on the lesson plan. It is so well laid out into 14 lessons...that is less than $5 a lesson ready to go, with questions, clips, activities and deep contextual knowledge. Its great that I am supporting my students learning and supporting a small independent theatre company.”(Andrew Benson, Newtown High School for the Performing Arts)
