High School Students Perform new Alana Valentine play about Cyber Bullying

Year 11 Drama students from Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School (NSW) are performing a new verbatim play about cyber bullying and the complexities surrounding it by HSC playwright Alana Valentine entitled Cyberbile at the Q Theatre, Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith on Thursday the 29th of March. Drama students are performing the play, while all music has been provided by our talented music students and recorded. Students of acrobatic dance will be adding to the performance with suspended silk dancing, and students of Stage Crew will be running the technical requirements for both performances.

Cyber bullying is an increasing problem in our schools and in society more generally. Young people in particular can be adversely affected by cyber bullying and it has been linked to mental illness, lower academic achievement, lower overall wellbeing, and, in extreme cases, suicide.

Students at Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School are very concerned about this issue.
