ATLANTIS: IN CONCERT

A cast of leading Australian musical theatre talents will appear for one night only in Matthew Robinson's new work – ATLANTIS on February 23, 2014 in Melbourne.
Matthew Robinson says, "I'm thrilled that Melbourne theatre-goers are so eager to hear the songs of ATLANTIS and that we've needed to add a second performance. I'm also incredibly grateful to our astonishing cast and creative team for sharing their talents so boundlessly."
Pratt Prize-winning composer/lyricist Matthew Robinson presents the World Premiere concert of the epic event musical ATLANTIS. Charting the days leading to the destruction of the ancient mythological kingdom, ATLANTIS has been developed throughout Australia and the United States for the past 2 years with firm interest now being expressed by Broadway producers and investors.
ATLANTIS – IN CONCERT will be Australia’s only chance to experience the musical before Robinson relocates to New York City assisted by the Australia Council’s $100,000 Music Fellowship. The development of ATLANTIS has been guided by multi Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pocahontas, The Prince of Egypt) and representatives from Disney Theatrical Productions, Manhattan Theatre Club and London’s Ambassador Theatre Group.
The performance will feature some of Australia’s favourite artists including Lucy Durack (Wicked, Legally Blonde), Gareth Keegan (Jersey Boys, Moonshadow), Kellie Rode (The Rocky Horror Show, The Boyfriend), Anne Wood (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Mamma Mia!), Bert LaBonte (The Mountaintop, An Officer and a Gentleman – The Musical), Melissa Langton (We Will Rock You, The Fabulous Singlettes), Lisa-Marie Parker (Cats), Sophie Carter (King Kong), Cameron MacDonald (Godspell), Joel Parnis (The Producers), Ben Nicholson (Playground) and Emily Langridge who will play Cosette in the forthcoming Australian production of Les Misérables.
Chris Parker will direct the concert with Matthew Robinson musically directing.
