Youett said “This year's Cabaret Showcase Grand Final is set to include some of the best and most diverse talent in the history of the event, with 11 acts traveling from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria to take part. Across the board, the standard of talent this year has been incredibly high and the judges are going to have a tough decision on Saturday. With the assistance of some of the country’s leading creative professionals in the field of Cabaret, we have been able to curate a Final that will be interesting, funny and moving. I look forward to taking one lucky act across to New York, as well as around Australia in 2013 to tour their show. They are all sensational acts and I can't wait for Australia and the Broadway community to see the winner in action!"”

This year’s winner will receive the biggest prize package in Showcase history including the opportunity to perform a newly devised solo show at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival, The Melbourne Cabaret Festival, The Noosa Long Weekend Festival, The Ballarat and Brisbane Cabaret Festivals and in New York at The New York Musical Theatre Festival, all with flights and accommodation. The Ron and Margaret Dobell Foundation will once again provide a cash prize of $1000, as well as providing travel and accommodation for the New York journey and also for Melbourne heat winners to attend the Sydney Grand Final. The winner will also receive a photographic and design package courtesy of Blueprint Studios, plus publicity for their tour courtesy of IP Publicity.
