The Joan: 2016 Subscription Season

The Joan (Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith) has announced its 2016 subscription season.

Performances range from From Bette Midler to Patsy Cline, stand-up comedy to opera and tea rituals to deep sea exploration.

Artists will include Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Noni Hazlehurst, Richard Gill, Teddy Tahu Rhodes and the Wharf Revue team.

22 - 23 January

Bawdy and brash as the original, Catherine Alcorn is The Divine Miss Bette.

Teacup in a Storm

25 - 27 February

The world premiere of a brand new work - made by The Q - based on the incredible stories of carers in the local region.

Sacred & Profane

13 March 3pm

Richard Gill leads the Sydney Chamber Choir through some of music’s most remarkable works in a choral roller-coaster ride.

This Time Tomorrow: Mirusia

16 April 8pm

The “Angel of Australia”, Mirusia gained worldwide fame as the featured soprano soloist with André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra.

A Queensland Theatre Company and Queensland Performing Arts Centre production, Country Song is a rollicking celebration featuring music from some of Australia’s renowned Indigenous entertainers.

Celebrate the life and music of one of the greatest female vocalists of all time.

A one-woman play written for acclaimed, award winning actor Noni Hazlehurst, Mother is the newest work from the ‘dangerous’ playwright Daniel Keene.

Teddy & Greta Live in Concert

19 November 8pm
